E-Cigs Background Information
March 4th, 2012An electronic cigarette, also known as an e-cigarette or an e-cig, is an electronic apparatus that has been devised mimic the act of regular tobacco smoking. The devise works by producing a water vapor mist that is inhaled and that simulates the physical feeling of inhaling cigarette smoke.
The mist can have a nicotine-flavored sensation, but does not have enough nicotine to cause health risks. Heat is most often used to vaporize the liquid glycerin solution, called eliquid or ejuice, into an aerosol mist. In some cases the vaporization is produced by ultrasonic. The vapor is odorless, free of tar and carbon monoxide, and does not produce second hand smoke. The devise works in the same way a humidifier works.
Most electronic cigarettes, or e-cigs, are about the same size as regular cigarettes. They are portable and self-contained. The size may vary to a small degree depending on the different batteries that are used. Most e-cigs look like actual cigarettes. Some can even resemble cigars or pipes. Most can be refilled so they are reusable, but some models are made as disposable.
The purpose of electronic cigarettes is to deliver a sensation that is similar to actual cigarette smoking without the dangerous health risks that accompany inhalation of tobacco smoke.
Today’s modern electronic cigarette was designed in 2003 by Hon Lik, a Chinese pharmacist. This revolution in cigarette smoking has caught the attention of smokers all over the world who are switching to electronic cigarettes and healthier smoking habits.
